Online Turkish Course for Foreigners

ONLINE TURKISH COURSE FOR FOREIGNERS

Registrations are accepted for the April 2025 Beginner Level Turkish Course to be taught online by Turkish-German University lecturers at TAU-SEM. In case of reaching the quorum of trainees (minimum 15 people), A1.1 Beginner Level Turkish Course will be opened. 

PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

The Online A1.1 Turkish Course for Foreigners, which will be taught by lecturers working within the Department of Common Courses under the Rectorate of Turkish-German University, is being launched. The aim of these courses, which will be given within TAU-SEM, is to facilitate the lives of foreign nationals in Turkey and to provide them with basic language skills.

For foreign nationals living, working or studying in Turkey, Turkish is the most important key to cultural and social cohesion as well as communicating in daily life. At our university, you can learn Turkish in an effective and enjoyable way with our expert lecturers. Anyone who is new to learning Turkish or has a basic level of knowledge can take online Turkish education, so you can contribute to your profession with the Turkish knowledge you have acquired. With this course, which will last 12 weeks over 4 hours a week, you can learn Turkish at a basic level in 48 hours.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

-To provide grammar, vocabulary and communication skills to those who want to learn Turkish at basic level (A1.1),
-To enable participants to express themselves in daily life,

COURSE CONTENT

-A1 Level Basic Grammar: Simple sentence structures, verb conjugations, pronouns, question forms and basic grammar rules
-A1 Level Vocabulary: Frequently used words and expressions in daily life
-A1 Level Speaking and Listening Skills: Practical dialogues, listening exercises and pronunciation exercises
-A1 Level Reading and Writing Skills: Reading simple texts, writing short paragraphs and basic spelling rules
-A1 Level Cultural Content: Informative content about Turkish culture, traditions and daily life

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION
1- Course Pre-Registration Form (Click here to fill out the form online) (Access to the pre-registration form will be available on March 6, 2025 at 10:00 am). 
2- Payment receipt (Payments are made after the application form is filled and the classes are formed).

PAYMENT 

Payments will be deposited in the name of Turkish-German University Revolving Fund Management Directorate, Halkbank Beykoz Branch, with the IBAN number in the same mail when the 'class is open' e-mail is sent to the trainees.

Please write your name, surname and 'Turkish Course Fee' in the explanation section.

*If the fees deposited to the account will not be deposited by the trainee himself/herself, the identity (Name, Surname and TR ID No) and contact information of the person who deposited the course fee to the bank account should be included and the trainee's Name-Surname and 'Turkish Course Fee' should be written in the Description section.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since TAU-SEM will send information e-mails such as placement test etc. during the registration period, it will be useful to check your e-mail box and junk (spam) box frequently. 

CONDITIONS FOR OPENING, CONDUCTING AND PARTICIPATING IN A TURKISH COURSE

1. Periodically, the quota status is determined by the Turkish Language Coordinatorship according to the intensity of applications.  

2. The responsibility for the program content belongs to the relevant faculty member.

3. In the event that the program is not opened due to insufficient number of participants (15 participants) or if the program cannot be carried out due to legal or extraordinary reasons, the participants who have paid the fee will be refunded according to the decision of the relevant Board and/or Unit of TGU. No interest or similar delay compensation will be paid in the refund of the participation fee.

4. It is compulsory to attend 70% of the courses in order to qualify for the Certificate of Attendance.

5. No full or partial refund will be made to those who register and do not attend the courses. In cases where TAU-SEM decides to refund the fee, the relevant account will be refunded within 60 days. 

6. In other matters, the relevant regulations and decisions to be taken by TAU-SEM Board of Directors are valid.

7. Those who register to the program are deemed to have accepted these conditions.
